How do I apply for inpatient Palliative Care?

Have your doctor or Home and Community Care from the Toronto Central LHIN complete and send an application to Providence Healthcare.

What if I am not ready to be admitted?

We will hold your application on our ‘backup’ wait list for six months. When you are ready, call us to activate your application.

What if I would like a tour of the area?

We would be pleased to offer you a tour. Call our Admissions at 416-285-3744 to arrange an appointment.

What are the visiting hours?

We welcome family and friends for visiting according to the wishes of our patients. Visitors who are on site between 8:30 p.m. and 7 a.m. must sign the visitor logbook at the D3 nursing station and wear a visitor sticker at all times. Please keep your voices low to respect the needs of our patients who are trying to rest after 8:30 p.m.

What if my loved ones need caregiver relief?

We have our Palliative Respite Care program that is intended to provide caregiver relief. Learn more about the program.

What if I would like my own room?

We have private, semi-private and basic accommodations. Please call our Admissions at 416-285-3744 for details.

Can I bring pets?

Providence Healthcare recognizes the value of pets and pet visitation in the recovery and quality of life of our patients, residents and clients. Upon arrival at the facility, pet handlers are expected to sign in. The sign-in book is available at the nursing station. After signing in, pet handlers will receive materials outlining their responsibilities, and our expectations during visitation. They will also receive a sticker, which is to be worn for the duration of the pet visitation.

Is parking available?

There are several parking spaces reserved for visitors to Palliative Care, located just outside the D1 entrance. The parking payment machine is conveniently located on D1. For information on rates and packages, visit
