When I first started working at Providence, the first question I asked, after “where are the washrooms?” was “where is the multifaith room?” as daily prayers are a central component of my faith. The answer I got back was “there isn’t one.”
On January 31st Men Advancing Philanthropy for Providence (MAPP) celebrated its first event of the year at Dublin Calling on Adelaide Street West for a high-spirited evening of games, laughter and philanthropy.
With Valentine’s Day upon us, we are remembering some of the wonderful love stories that we have witnessed at Providence Healthcare. One of our favourite stories involves Fernando Gomez and Diana Marquez.
2017 was the year of the rooster… and we can’t stop crowing about all the amazing moments that have left a lasting impression on us. Reflecting back on last year, our small team at Providence Healthcare Foundation were able to pull off many BIG things. It was our 30th anniversary this year… we had to make the year really special.
As a 31-year old mother of two young boys, Kimberly Tamar had gone through a difficult couple of months. In February of 2017, she decided to take a trip to Trinidad with some of her closest friends and family, in hopes of reconnecting with those she loved and hadn’t seen in a while. She was looking for a fresh start.
The holiday spirit was strong on December 6th as over 90 WIPP donors and guests gathered at The Lodge on Queen for a celebration like no other. It was the perfect combination of holiday shopping, great cocktails, and close friends gathering to unwind before the busy holiday season.
Providence Healthcare Foundation became one of the few Canadian charities to achieve prestigious accreditation from Imagine Canada’s Standards Program on October 31, 2017.
Last night was a truly spirited culinary affair with spicy bites, cool drinks, and hot competition! Over 60 donors and guests came together to raise over $4,500 (net) to support the patients and residents of Providence Healthcare!
