On March 31, 2016, we witnessed a truly wonderful evening of camaraderie that showcased the great power of collective giving! Together, we all gathered for a special first glimpse of the beautiful WIPP-funded revitalization of Seasons Café, with the redesigned space looking simply stunning!
We enjoyed an impressive accomplishment at last night’s Annual Voting Meeting, granting a total contribution of $100,000 to two of the most worthy needs at Providence Healthcare, as voted by you!
We must also express our heartfelt gratitude to our floral sponsor, Rosie Young Concierge, and a special thanks to our departure bags sponsors, RBC Royal Bank, Rosie Young Concierge and The Lunch Lady (Khadija Somji)!
We hope you had the chance during the event to try our interactive photo booth, generously donated by Cheryl Glecoff Photography, and the beautiful corsage-making booth, generously donated by Bloom Plus!
For those unable to join us, the winning projects were…
Innovative Therapy Using iPad Technology
The proposal was to purchase 69 iPads for Providence Hospital. The proposal was to allocate 54 iPads to use in the rehabilitation units and distribute the remainder to common areas such as living rooms, the waiting areas for the outpatient clinics and the palliative care units.
Your $50,000 donation to this project will be used to purchase:
The iPad project relates to Providence’s strategic plan to provide the best patient experience as well as our vision to “give the people we care for the knowledge and confidence to stay healthy and safe at home,” by empowering them to access resources and materials independently, using current and widely-available technology.
Live Music Harpist Program
Music therapy will provide a calm environment and a peaceful atmosphere filled with inspiration, encouragement and support in the palliative care unit at the Hospital and in the Cardinal Ambrozic Houses of Providence for our residents, patients and families to enjoy.
Your $50,000 donation to the project will be used to support a year of music in the form of 3-4 live performances each week for a total of 18 hours of live harp music per week for our residents and patients’ benefit and enjoyment.
The Live Music Harpist Program was the perfect example of how Providence is committed to new and innovative approaches to provide better care for the people in our community.
We hope that you enjoyed a very memorable night with us! Thank you for your continued support of Providence Healthcare.
