MAPP & WIPP Drive-In Movie ~ September 17, 2020

MAPP and WIPP Drive-In Movie Experience Recap

Sep 21, 2020

Thursday, September 17 was an extraordinary and energy-filled night of celebration, fellowship, and everything 80s for our two philanthropic groups at Providence Healthcare. MAPP and WIPP members came together to have some good ol’ fun under the stars at their first-ever drive-in movie event – and it did not disappoint. Over 150 donors and guests gathered at The Stardust Drive-In Theatre to join Providence Healthcare in celebrating our two successful MAPP and WIPP $100,000 grant recipients.

We kicked off the night with presentations by Dr. Ashley Verduyn for her Physician Lounge project and Dr. Joanna Sale for her Fracture Prevention Services project. We then showcased an emotional tribute recognizing our Providence Healthcare Heroes and strong residents in the Houses of Providence. This tribute was developed in partnership with Shawn Brady, Senior Clinical Program Director of Rehabilitation Unity Health Toronto – Providence Healthcare, who wrote the song featured, “Sideways 2020”. Guests were treated to some delicious pizza courtesy of Dr. Oetker, Momenti Pizza, and of course popcorn! From there, we were transported back in time for our feature film, the highest-grossing film of 1985, Back to the Future!

Guests enjoyed engaging in a safe social distance photo experience in front of our DeLorean, bidding at the Silent Auction, and participating in our 50/50 Draw! The event was a true blast from the past.

Check out the photos and relive the excitement of the event!

We were overjoyed to come together with MAPP, WIPP and our community to celebrate their dedication and unwavering support of Providence.

A special thanks to Bronze Sponsor – Malpack, and our Popcorn Sponsor – Tesco. We’d also like to recognize our generous gift-in-kind and Silent Auction donors for their incredible support of this event. Thank you!
