If you could make a small donation to help a long-term care resident be safer, more comfortable and maybe even healthier, would you do it?
Providence Healthcare is raising funds for our long-term care home – Cardinal Ambrozic Houses of Providence – to speed up the replacement of our 288 residents’ beds. We are buying new beds that meet the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care safety standards and new mattresses that improve sleep and reduce pain and bed sores.
This fundraising campaign is part of the Great Canadian Giving Challenge, an initiative by CanadaHelps to raise money for charities during June. For every $1 you donate, Providence Healthcare gains an extra chance to win $10,000 – that would cover the cost of beds for four people living in long-term care. Imagine – you could make that happen!
We are fast-tracking, but we want to go faster!
We’d like to do what we can through the Canada Helps program to reduce the wait for as many of our long-term care residents as possible. Providence is fast-tracking this initiative and has been able to replace all but 63 of the 288 beds so far with our limited funds, but it will take another two to three years to complete the switchover.
The old bed frames were the standard when they were bought 18 years ago, but there are new beds now that are safer and mattresses that are better for our residents’ safety and comfort.
What should you do?
Please make a donation today! When you donate, you will be helping a person living in long-term care be safer, more comfortable and maybe even healthier! Imagine that! How much can you give?
