On Tuesday June 27, Foresters Financial hosted their annual charity golf tournament at King Valley Golf Club, choosing Providence Healthcare Foundation as one of the grateful recipients of this year’s tournament proceeds.
This third-party event has benefited so many worthy charities over the years. This year was no exception. Half of the total raised went to Providence Healthcare, and the remaining 50% was shared between four local charitable organizations chosen by employees of Foresters. We are humbly grateful to those at Foresters Financial who invest so much in the community and for all who attended this rainy day of golf. Rain or shine, we recognize and appreciate the many people who played a contributing role in making this day a success.
During the lunch program of the golf tournament, guests had the pleasure of hearing directly from a very special guest, Mr. Patrick McCarthy, a living example of how courage and perseverance become transformative in the healing journey. Pat came through the doors of Providence in need of a specialized place for his recovery, having suffered a stroke at the age of 51. He completely lost his ability to walk and speak which was a life-altering experience for someone whose professional career was built around being an expert communicator. With the heart of a champion and the support of a tireless staff, Pat overcame incredible odds and continues to be part of our lives today… beyond his healing time here. He volunteers in Palliative Care, is a member of several planning committees, and contributes to our three signature events.
The proceeds from the event will support the 3,000 patients who spend time in our beds and call Providence “home” every year. It is hard to believe that 42 years ago in 1975, Foresters Financial made its very first donation to Providence Healthcare. To date, they have contributed over $504,000 to the courageous patients, residents, families, and clients we serve. We TRULY CHERISH this long-standing philanthropic partnership!
Thank you again, to the wonderful Foresters Financial team, for believing in the Providence Mission once more and for their ongoing commitment to supporting the care that is delivered throughout the most difficult times in a patient's life.
