Embrace by Kate Maura: An online art exhibition in support of Providence Healthcare

Nov 24, 2020

Kate Maura, a Toronto-based artist and OCAD graduate, invites you to view her newest collection, Embrace. Due to COVID-19, this art exhibition launches digitally on November 24 and runs until December 26, 2020. With positive, hopeful imagery and an underlying optimistic message for the future, the Embrace series is symbolic for our ability to battle back against challenges and find the positive in any situation.

Embrace is a floral canvas series, which was born out of COVID-19. Kate was inspired by beautiful bouquets of flowers that she received from family and friends during the spring, which marked the beginning of the pandemic. She was so touched by the thoughtful gesture – that something so simple, yet so beautiful could lift her spirit and bring her joy. Kate wanted to bring this experience to others, and shared this, creatively, through her paintings.

With seven distinguished works of art, Kate Maura is hoping to take individuals on a journey through nature: a journey of healing, empathy, and growth.

“Art is therapy,” said Kate. “I hope that my paintings will bring happiness and comfort to those who experience them.”

A percentage of all sales of the Embrace collection will be donated to Providence Healthcare in support of its strong patients, residents and staff.
