Our 16th annual Cuisine & Cuvée evening, presented by TD Commercial Banking and the co-operators , raised $200,000 (net) to help Providence Healthcare create a better care experience for our patients. This is the first time in our history that Cuvée has reached this milestone amount, and we send our greatest thanks to our dedicated committee members, sponsors, food donors, guests, volunteers and staff for helping us get there. Did you know that our Foundation is able to direct more than 75% of these dollars back to patient care at Providence? This essential funding is helping Providence do more to support its community, such as the transformation of our Palliative Care program, which will have a significant and meaningful impact on patients and their loved ones for decades to come.
On June 23, 2016, more than 900 guests enjoyed the return to Evergreen Brick Works, where we danced to Bellosound, bid actively on our silent and fine wine auctions, and tried our luck in this year’s outstanding raffle. Our supporters delighted in the delicacy of oysters, the richness of steak, and the depth of fines cheeses, while our smorgasbord of savory and sweet was accompanied by sommelier-selected fine wines and beers along with modern twists on manhattans, G&T’s, martinis, and more.
As an exclusive experience, our VIP guests enjoyed the Celebrity Chef Experience with Chef Massimo Capra! He made our palate dance and kept us entertained with his engaging and big personality. A special thanks to Chef Capra, Chevalier Marcel Bregstein, and Chef Tim Belanger for treating our premier sponsors to such an extraordinary pre-party.
With more than 110 items in our silent and fine wine auctions, and with the digital power of the Givergy auction system, we raised $36,700 in our auctions. This was a major breakthrough in this event and was the key to helping us exceed our overall fundraising goal. Each and every item in the auctions was donated, and we send our sincere thanks to all our donors who made this year's auction such a success.
Time and again, guests commented on the delightful array of food and drink stations and the most common thing we heard was “this is the BEST Cuisine & Cuvée ever!” While the auctions, raffle and entertainment make this a great event, what matters most to our guests is their culinary experience. Our 32 food vendors helped make Cuisine & Cuvée one of the hottest events in the city, and we can’t say a big enough thanks for their exceptional generosity.
What a night to celebrate the start of summer, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back to the 2017 Cuisine & Cuvée on Thursday, June 15, 2017.
