14th Annual Donor Appreciation Reception

Celebrating Our Valued Donors and Volunteers

Oct 11, 2019

Providence Healthcare Foundation hosted our 14th Annual Donor Appreciation Reception on Thursday October 10, 2019, generously sponsored by BMO.

More than 100 of the Foundation’s closest friends joined us in a celebration of philanthropy and goodwill, and helped us honour and congratulate this year’s outstanding Award Recipients.

Deacon Sal Badali has been named the 2019 Donor of Distinction in recognition of his long-time support as a major donor of Providence Healthcare, 33 years and counting. He is best known within the hospital for the exceptional care and compassion that he provides to patients and their families, and through his volunteer service as a Deacon within the Spiritual Care Department. Deacon Sal has been an active attendee of many Providence Healthcare Foundation events throughout the years, his favourite being the Providence Golf Classic. Deacon Sal has been a great ambassador and has introduced numerous donors to Providence, resulting in significant major philanthropic gifts to support the advancement of the mission of Providence.

The 2019 Villani Award was presented to Stephen Mangos, a valued supporter of Providence Healthcare. He was recognized for his passionate service, outstanding leadership and philanthropic achievements. Stephen is an enthusiastic and dedicated advocate for Providence Healthcare. As Vice Chair of the Providence Golf Classic Committee and Member of the MAPP Advisory Group, his leadership has been vital to our continued success. He lives our mission and has helped to keep the cherished legacy of Nick Villani alive at Providence.

The celebration was topped off by a message from the Chair of Unity Heaths Board of Directors, Ms. Colleen Johnston. The evening was a great representation of the amazing supporters and friends of Providence. We are very grateful to our Providence community and look forward to another wonderful year.
