Why do hospitals need philanthropic support?
The costs of the hospital’s operations are funded by the Ontario government, which has helped create access to some of the best healthcare in the world. However, some of the most important and innovative enhancements to patient care and their hospital experience are made solely as a result of donations from the public. For example, at Providence, our renovations to our rehab hospital and the planned transformations to Palliative Care are 100% funded by donors.

Can I give a gift In Honour or In Memory of someone else?
Of course! Making a gift In Honour or In Memory of someone special is a meaningful way of honouring your loved ones while helping patients and residents flourish at Providence Healthcare. We have many donors who make donations In Honour, or In Memory, of friends, families and caregivers.
With a donation of $10 or more to the Foundation, we will send a commemorative card to the individual you want to honour through our Tribute Program to acknowledge your generous gift.
Can I claim credit as a first time donor?
Learn more about Super-Credit for first-time donors. The new credit can be claimed once from the 2013 to 2017 taxation years.
How can can calculate my donation tax credit?
Simply use the CRA donation tax calculator. Enter monetary donations up to $1,000 made after March 20, 2013 and select “Calculate” to display the results.
What is the minimum donation required for a tax receipt?
Tax receipts are issued for donations of $10 or greater.
When will I receive a tax receipt for my donation?
As soon as your donation has been processed, your donation receipt will be mailed to you within 5 business days unless otherwise requested (many donors request annual receipts which are mailed at the beginning of each year for the previous calendar year’s giving. Please email Nona Bourgeois at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like an “annual receipt”).
When will I receive my e-tax receipt from my online donation?
Within minutes of successfully completing an online gift, you should receive an email notification confirming the donation. If you did not receive your e‑tax receipt right away, please check your spam and junk folders.

How can I request my donation tax receipt?
In the event that your receipt has been lost or misplaced, or if you have moved, a duplicate receipt can be issued. Please contact Nona Bourgeois at firstname.lastname@example.org.
How can I easily update my information with you?
If you would like to update your name, address, phone number or you would like to update your credit card or banking information for your monthly gift, please contact us by telephone at 416‑285‑3630.
When an In Memory or In Honour gift is made, is the amount of the donation disclosed?
No. Donation amounts are is kept strictly confidential unless requested by the donor.
Will the Foundation share my information with other organizations?
Can online donors make an anonymous donation?
Yes. Simply check the appropriate box when prompted in the online donation form.

How can I become a monthly donor?
Select the monthly recurring gift option when you donate online. Monthly donations demonstrate your continuous dedication to Providence Healthcare, and offer the convenience of having funds withdrawn directly from a bank account or credit card. Can I donate equipment and/or items (a gift‑in‑kind, such as artwork, books) to the Foundation?
Gift‑in‑kind donations to Providence Healthcare Foundation can help to raise funds through prize draws, live and silent auctions, and many other ways. Beneficial items for fundraising purposes include electronics, sporting event or concert tickets, fine wines and spirits, artwork, jewelry, and gift certificates.
We welcome the opportunity to discuss with you what is needed and what the Foundation and Providence Hospital can best use. Does the Foundation accept future gifts (e.g., estates, securities, insurance)?
