The Recovery After Stroke Clinic is
for outpatients of Providence Hospital’s
Specialized Stroke Rehabilitation Program.

Refer to the descriptions below to determine if a physician’s referral is required. If you would like to book an appointment for Chiropody, Accupuncture, Massage Therapy, Physiotherapy or Chiropractic Services, please visit our Integrated Healing Arts Centre page.

When you arrive at Providence, please follow the red ‘CLINICS’ icon to get to the entrance for the Outpatient Clinics. The clinic is located on the 1st Floor or Providence Hospital’s B Wing.

Recovery After Stroke Clinic

On site rehabilitation service available exclusively to outpatients of Providence Hospital’s Stroke Rehabilitation program for up to 20 visits. Services include Physiatry, Physiotherapy, Speech Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Social Work and Therapeutic Recreation.

Mobility Clinic

On-site rehabilitation service available exclusively to outpatients of Providence Hospital, providing a focus on musculoskeletal injuries. Services include pain management, physiotherapy and occupational therapy.

New! Amputee and Assistive Devices Clinic

Offers specialized inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services to adults following lower limb amputation. Services offered by the team include assessment, discussion of needs and preferences to determine the type of prosthesis and mobility devices if necessary and to establish eligibility for assistive devices funding assistance.

Pain Care Clinic

The clinic focuses on rehabilitation and giving people the tools they need to manage pain effectively. It specializes in fibromyalgia, chronic pain, and headaches. The approach is holistic, addressing the mind, body and spirit.

The Providence Community Centre also features an Integrated Healing Arts Centre that offers physiotherapy, accupuncture, chiropractic services, massage therapy, and chiropody. Access to professionals with this wide range of specialties creates a comprehensive environment in which to treat clients suffering from chronic pain. In cases where the pain can not be treated physically, Dr. Brodie works with patients to give them the tools they need to lead productive, full lives while living with pain. Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (Physiatry) Clinic

The on site service encompasses the comprehensive diagnosis, management and rehabilitation of people of all ages with neuro-musuloskeletal disorders and associated disabilities. Referral by physician only. Please download the appropriate form (below) and fax to 416-285-3764.

Arthritis Clinic (a partnership with The Arthritis Society)

Providence is a host site for this clinic, held twice monthly, and presented by The Arthritis Society. It is open to anyone in our community. Must have a confirmed diagnosis of arthritis. Services include assessment and education, coping strategies, exercise instruction, as well as Self-Management sessions.
Hours of operation: The 2nd and 4th Monday of each month.

Diabetes Education (a partnership with DECNET)

Providence is a host site for this monthly program, and presented by DECNET. These one-on-one sessions are led by a diabetes nurse educator and/or a clinical dietitian. Meetings are by appointment only and are booked directly through DECNET.
Hours of operation: The 3rd Wednesday of each month.

Alzheimer Clinic

This clinic is held two times per year in the Scotiabank Learning Centre. For individuals with a recent diagnosis of dementia, caregivers and family members interested in one-on-one or family meetings with a counsellor.

Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensary Clinic

In partnership with the Canadian Hearing Society. Services include hearing tests, hearing aid evaluations and sales, hearing aid maintenance and repair, battery and accessory sales, communication devices and hearing aid counseling.
Hearing Test Cost: $40 Note: The fee will be waived if a hearing aid is purchased
