Cardinal Ambrozic Houses of Providence
The Cardinal Ambrozic Houses of Providence is a long-term care home with a friendly, modern and stimulating environment. Around-the-clock nursing and personal care is provided to residents who are frail, disabled or cognitively impaired. Within this Catholic-preferred home, there is a strong emphasis on religious and spiritual care.
Program Features
- Designated as ‘Catholic preferred’ by Community Care Access Centres
- All religions welcome
- Interprofessional team includes an Administrator, Resident Program Managers, Registered Nurses, Registered Practical Nurses, Resident Assistants (personal support workers), Physicians, Physiotherapists, Activation Assistants, Social Worker, Dietitian, Chaplains, Pharmacist, and Volunteer Coordinator
- Provides access to Providence Hospital outpatient clinics (e.g. chiropody, eye, dental)
- Regularly scheduled recreation activities and outings
- On-site amenities include hair salon/barber shop, chapel, library, gardens
- Eight themed activity rooms for restorative and therapeutic activities including a ‘spa,’ woodworking, baking, and container gardening
- Residents’ Council and Family Council
- Volunteers assist with reading, friendly visiting, as well as other duties
Admission Criteria
- Admission exclusively through Community Care Access Centres
- Residents require 24/7 assistance with activities of daily living due to physical and/or cognitive impairments
- Non-smoking residents only
