We offer a number of clinics and services for the community through our Providence Community Centre.

If you would like to book an appointment for acupuncture, chiropody (foot care), chiropractic services, registered massage therapy or physiotherapy, please visit our Integrated Healing Arts Centre.

Alzheimer Service

This service is offered several times per year in the Scotiabank Learning Centre. This service is for individuals and families who have had a recent diagnosis of dementia.  Caregivers and family members can meet one-on-one or have a family meetings with a counsellor.

Amputee Clinic

The Amputee Clinic offers outpatient rehabilitation services to adults following lower limb amputation.

The amputee team consists of the physician specialist, device authorizer (certified prosthetist) and rehab assessor (Occupational Therapist/Physiotherapist registered with the amputee team).

Services offered by the amputee team include assessment, discussion of client’s needs and preferences to determine the type of prosthesis and/or mobility device and establish eligibility for assistive devices funding. Prosthetic prescription is based on discussion and recommendations of all amputee team members including the client.

Arthritis Service

Providence is a host site for this clinic which is held twice month by The Arthritis Society. It is open to anyone in our community who has a confirmed diagnosis of arthritis. Services provided by this clinic include: assessment and education, coping strategies, exercise instruction, as well as Stanford University’s  Arthritis Self-Management Program.

Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensary Clinic

In partnership with the Canadian Hearing Society, services include: hearing tests, hearing aid evaluations and sales, hearing aid maintenance and repair, battery and accessory sales, communication devices and hearing aid counseling.

Hearing Test Cost: $40
Note: The fee will be waived if a hearing aid is purchased.

Diabetes Education

Providence is a host site for this monthly program which is presented by the Diabetes Education Community Network of East Toronto (DECNET). These one-on-one sessions are led by a diabetes nurse educator and/or a clinical dietitian. Meetings are by appointment only and are booked directly through DECNET.

Diabetes Education is held the third Wednesday of each month. Call DECNET at 416-461-9042.

Mobility Clinic, donated by HCAT

On-site rehabilitation service available exclusively to outpatients of Providence Hospital, providing a focus on musculoskeletal injuries. Services will include pain management, physiotherapy and occupational therapy.

Pain Care Clinic

The pain clinic services are provided by a Family Practice Physician who specializes in pain management, and  focuses on rehabilitation and providing  people with tools to manage pain effectively. Individuals with conditions such as fibromyalgia, chronic pain, and headaches are suitable for the clinic. This clinic follows a holistic approach as it addresses the mind, body and spirit.


Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (Physiatry)

The on-site service is provided by a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physician (Physiatrist) encompasses the comprehensive diagnosis, management and rehabilitation of people of all ages with neuro-muskuloskeletal disorders and associated disabilities.

Referral by physician only.

Stroke and Neuro Clinic

On-site rehabilitation service available exclusively to outpatients of Providence Hospital’s Stroke and Neuro Rehabilitation program. Services include physiatry, physiotherapy, speech language pathology, occupational therapy, social work, nursing and therapeutic recreation.

Referral by internal health professionals.
