There are a wide range of convenient guest services and amenities offered to our patients, residents and clients.
Automated bank machines are located in the Hospital main entrance and on the 1st Floor of A Wing outside the cafeteria. There is a small service fee associated with transactions, which directly benefits Providence Healthcare.
Located in the Houses of Providence on the main floor, the Hair Salon/Barber is available to patients and residents. Hours of operation are 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Call 416-285-3666, ext. 4292 to make an appointment.
Our Seasons Cafe cafeteria is located in Providence Hospital, A Wing, on the 1st Floor. It offers a range of healthy, delicious and nutritious meals, including sandwiches and salads, chef’s hot table,daily soup and pizza specials, snacks and hot and cold beverages. Food service runs from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, however, the space is open 24/7 for visitors, patients, residents and staff.
Our Lady of Assumption Chapel is located on the 3rd floor of Providence Hospital. Everyone is welcome to worship, pray or spend time in quiet reflection. The following celebrations are held in the Chapel:

The Internet Café helps patients connect with family and friends, stay on top of personal finances and get the daily news. Adaptive devices make it easier for patients with physical challenges to surf the Internet and play computer games. Open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. in Providence Hospital on the 3rd Floor.
The Tuck Shop in the Houses of Providence is located on the main floor of our long-term care home and can be reached by the Link to the Houses from the D-Wing. The Tuck Shop carries unique gift items, a variety of teas, coffee, soft drinks and baked goods. For those with a sweet tooth, we also carry chocolates, candies and a selection of sugar-free items. Hours of operation are Monday to Sunday, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Additional gifts and flowers can be purchased from a number of shops in the neighbourhood. Flower deliveries will be delivered to your Patient Care Unit. Please note that due to latex allergies, latex balloons are not permitted in the hospital.
In cases where there is a demonstrated need for interpretation, patients and family members will be offered access to over-the-phone, face-to-face or American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation service. The interpretation service will be provided in your room or in a quiet and private location in Providence Hospital to ensure confidentiality between patient/client, clinical staff and family member if required.
Available to all patients and residents. Located in the Houses of Providence on the 2nd floor in the activity room (west side).
Incoming mail is delivered by Hospital volunteers to your Patient Care Unit. Please inform friends and family to address your mail as follows:

Outgoing mail may be deposited in the Canada Post mailbox located at the main entrances to the Hospital and the Houses of Providence. Stamps are sold in the Houses of Providence Tuck Shop.
Complimentary Toronto Star newspapers are available at the Hospital main entrance. Newspapers can also be purchased from boxes located outside the main entrance.
Providence’s retail pharmacy is open to patients and families and the public. In addition to filling prescriptions, the pharmacy carries a range of non-prescription items like vitamins, supplements and headache medication. Pharmacists are also available for consultations on medication reviews as needed. Pharmacists will dispense your discharged prescriptions and review all medications with you and your family to ensure you are comfortable with them when you return home. They will send a copy of your medication discharge plan to your family doctor, as well as the pharmacy of your choice, to make your transition of care as seamless as possible.
Even if you have been discharged from Providence Hospital, you are welcome to return to us if you would like to have your medication refilled or reviewed with you.
The pharmacy is located in Providence Hospital at the entrance to the B Wing on the 2nd Floor. Open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Note: The outpatient pharmacy at Providence will be reducing hours of operation, effective April 4, to Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The pharmacy will be closed to the public on Saturdays. For questions or requests, reach out by phone at 416-285-3805.
This resource centre is for people learning to cope with life-altering illnesses such as Alzheimer’s disease, stroke, diabetes, heart disease, arthritis and Parkinson’s disease. All services are free-of charge.
The Scotiabank Learning Centre is open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day for drop ins to use the computers, watch TV, or make a cup of tea. Please note: Scotiabank Learning Centre staff are available Monday to Friday from 8 a.m to 4 p.m or by appointment by calling 416-285-3666, ext. 4177.
Chaplains are available to help meet spiritual and religious care needs. There are chapels within both Providence Hospital and the Houses of Providence, available to worship, pray or spend time in quiet reflection. We also have a Multifaith Room on the 2nd floor, B-Wing of Providence Hospital, which is open around the clock for individual or small group worship and reflection. For patients at the hospital, each room is equipped with a telephone and a television. Bedside phones are provided free of charge for incoming and outgoing local calls. Located at the main entrance to Providence Hospital, the Tim Hortons kiosk serves baked goods and bagels, breakfast sandwiches and wraps, oatmeal, yoghurt and berries. There is also a grab ‘n’ go section stocked by our cafeteria with soups, sandwiches, salads and healthy entrees. Tim Hortons is open from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
This unique clinic is designed for the exclusive use of patients who are recovering from a stroke, orthopaedic surgery or a lower limb amputation. It recreates an external streetscape with walkways and curbs, a crosswalk, grass surfaces and a Toyota Venza. By bringing the challenges of the outdoors into a reassuring environment, patients safely relearn the day-to-day skills they will need once they are discharged. Located in Providence Hospital on the 1st Floor.
