Located on the 3rd floor of Providence Hospital, the Internet Café, Donated by Bell features several computer terminals, all wheelchair accessible.
A new space, made possible through a generous $50,000 donation from Bell Canada, has quickly become an essential area for Providence Hospital patients to connect with family and friends, stay on top of personal finances, and get the daily news. The new room has been heavily used since it opened at the end of 2007.
The computers are also used for more than just Internet access; some patients use them to play computer games for recreation. Full features include:
- 5 desktop computers
- 1 desk for laptop hook up
- Sitting area with club chairs for reading and visiting
- CD player for personal listening (you must bring your own headphones)
- Library of books on CD
- Small lending library of books and periodicals
