How do I donate online?
All you have to do is click the ‘donate now’ button and follow the instructions. All information entered is strictly confidential and securely protected, and donor information is only provided to the charity to which the donation has been made.
How do online donors get a receipt?
Donations made through the Providence Healthcare Foundation website are treated in the same way as regular receiptable charitable donations. The Canadian Customs and Revenue Agency has approved the use of electronic tax receipts. Usually within minutes of successfully completing a donation, the donor receives an e-mail notification confirming the transaction.
Can online donors make an anonymous donation?
Yes. All that is required is that the donor checks the appropriate box when prompted and anonymity is guaranteed.
If you sign up as a monthly donor, the Foundation will withdraw the funds directly from your bank account or from your credit card. Monthly donations help the Foundation save money, while offering the convenience our donors have requested! Often people come into our lives who touch us deeply, either through their courage, positive disposition, or friendship. The Tribute Program allows you to honour these special people with a commemorative card.
For a donation of $10 or more to Providence Healthcare Foundation, we will send a tribute card on your behalf.
In Memory of Someone You Loved
Has someone special in your life passed away or do you know someone who has lost a family member or friend? The “In Memory” card is a thoughtful way to let your friends and family know that you are thinking about them in their time of sorrow.
Honour Someone Special
Birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, or baptisms: these are the perfect times to honour someone special with a Tribute Card while showing your support for Providence Healthcare. Many people also choose to thank a special caregiver at Providence Healthcare for outstanding care using our Tribute Program.

Providence Healthcare Foundation accepts donations of publicly listed securities that can be traded on a recognized stock exchange, e.g. TSE, NYSE. A charitable tax receipt will be issued by Providence Healthcare Foundation for the value of the shares based on the end-of-day trading price on the day the securities are transferred. Are you a current or past family member of a resident of the Houses of Providence? If so, supporting our Family Fundraising Program in benefit of the Cardinal Ambrozic Houses of Providence is a wonderful way to enrich the lives of the residents in our care.
The award-winning ‘Houses’ give individuals a place they can truly call home. Spacious hallways, cozy living areas, activity rooms, ‘memory’ windows in front of all rooms, beautiful gardens, a chapel, a gift shop, and a salon/barber shop are just some of the features that make this facility special. A Residents’ Council meets regularly for council meetings and special occasions in order to ensure resident involvement.
A lot of care went into making the Houses of Providence a place people can call home. Creating and maintaining this home-like environment, though, comes at a cost. Your donations are essential.

The Foundation accepts and appreciates gifts-in-kind. Donated gifts can be used as prizes for our various special events. Tax receipts can be issued if the gift is accompanied by an official appraisal or business receipt. In some cases, an independent appraisal verifying the value of the gift is required in order for a tax receipt to be issued. The Canada Revenue Agency rules are very specific with respect to appraised values. The Foundation will work with you to ensure an appropriate receipt is issued where possible.

Through the Beyondmiles Aeroplan program anyone can donate Aeroplan Miles in support of Providence Healthcare Foundation. Aeroplan points are auctioned off every year at all three signature events including Cuisine & Cuvée, the Ken & Nancy Shaw Providence Golf Classic and the Silver Ball. You can make a donation by cash, cheque, money order, Visa, Mastercard or American Express. All donations of $10 or more will receive a receipt for income tax purposes. Donors receive recognition accordingly. Consider signing up as a monthly donor in order to help the Foundation save on administration costs.
