Since 1987, Providence Healthcare Foundation has been working with our generous donors and the community-at-large to raise essential funds for Providence Healthcare. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our friends for your outstanding dedication to the Foundation. All of our supporters – donors, ambassadors, and volunteers – have truly made a lasting difference through their generous spirits and unwavering commitment to Providence Healthcare.
Each year, we meet with the Providence Healthcare’s Senior Management Team to identify equipment and program needs. This ensures our annual fundraising objectives are clearly defined, but more importantly, it ensures donor dollars are directed to the areas of greatest need.
In the fiscal year 2016/17, the Foundation’s goal is to raise $3.3 million (net) to directly support the most urgent needs of Providence Healthcare. We will achieve this goal through various fundraising initiatives which include: active major gift and planned giving programs, our three special events, bi-annual direct mail appeals, third-party events, tribute program, family fundraising campaign and staff campaign. In fact, thanks to the generosity of our donors, we are already well on our way to meeting our target!
Jennifer C. Stewart, CFRE
President and CEO
Jennifer, who has been leading the Foundation since 2000, comes to work every day with a smile because of the people at Providence Healthcare – the patients, residents, clients, staff and volunteers. It is so easy to build strong relationships when staff share a common purpose of seeing people go home healthy and with hope. Jennifer believes Providence does some of the hardest work in healthcare. Giving hope to people when they’ve been told there is none, lifting people up when they need strength, and helping people die with dignity. When you support Providence Healthcare, you are directly supporting the people who rely on us for care. You are touching hundreds of lives each year…and for that, we are truly grateful.
Foundation Governance & Corporate Manager

Andrea supports the Foundation’s President and CEO and coordinates the day-to-day operation of the Foundation office. As the main staff support and governance manager for the Foundation Board of Directors and Foundation Board Committees, she manages the Imagine Canada Standards Accreditation program, overseeing the development of Foundation’s policies and procedures and maintaining the Foundation Risk Management Plan/Process.
Special Events Manager
Evan is an honours graduate from University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Commerce, and marketing specialty. After spending time in the workforce, Evan returned to Humber College in the Event Management program where he was the Academic Achievement Winner for his year, and furthered his event and fundraising knowledge. Initially joining the Foundation as temporary event support for the 2015 Silver Ball, Evan hit the ground running with the goal of continuing to enhance his event management experience, while providing a helping hand during a time when he was most needed. His skills shone through and he soon became a permanent member of the Foundation team. Evan’s positivity and can-do attitude make him an ideal fit in the Foundation! Evan currently manages Cuisine & Cuvée, MAPP Events, and WIPP Events, while providing support to Providence Golf Classic, the Silver Ball, and third-party activities.
Digital & Social Media Manager
With over six years of digital marketing experience in an agency environment, Hamzah joined the Foundation in late 2016 to help build awareness to its online fundraising efforts and charity events by utilizing the latest trends in digital and social media. Landing pages, video production, podcasting, data segmentation... Hamzah helps the Foundation explore new digital avenues as they become available. He also has worked heavily in email marketing and hopes to raise the digital portfolio to new heights.
Major Gifts Manager
Joanne comes to the Foundation with a diversified professional background. As Major Gifts Manager, she is primarily responsible for leading the strategic direction, stewardship, cultivation, and solicitation for the major gifts portfolio and the $16 million Hope Starts Here campaign. Trained and certified as both an engineer and a lawyer, Joanne possesses a unique skill set and perspective, and is excited and proud to contribute to this compassionate, dynamic and dedicated team. In Joanne's words, "It is a privilege and an inspiration to have the opportunity to be a member of this team, and to engage in work daily that has a direct impact on Providence Healthcare's patients and their families. Every day brings about a new perspective on the most important things in our lives."
Joanne is also the Chief Legal, Regulatory & Privacy Officer for the Foundation.
Marketing & Communications Manager
Stephanie has spent the last two decades paving her way through the non-profit, private, and public sectors with a passion for creative fund development, stewarding relationships, and fostering strategic growth. Coming to the team with an entrepreneurial spirit, Stephanie takes unconventional approaches to marketing and “outside the box” methods to raise awareness and build profile, while maintaining tradition. With a long history of working in both a healthcare and foundation landscape, joining the Providence team seemed like an ideal pairing. With her extensive event and fundraising expertise, Stephanie is excited about developing and upholding a solid marketing and communications strategy to further expand the vision of Providence Healthcare Foundation and its service to the Providence Healthcare community.
Annual Fund Officer
Cassidy joined the Foundation as an Event Assistant in September 2016 and jumped right in at the 5th Annual Providence Cup Regatta on her very first day. Since then, she has been promoted to Annual Fund Officer, responsible for our philanthropic groups, WIPP and MAPP as well as Third Party events. Cassidy graduated from Western University and worked on a wide range of events from weddings to rodeos, making her an ideal fit for this role. Cassidy is passionate about planning ‘parties with a purpose’ and providing hope, help and healing to the Providence community.
Special Events Coordinator
Initially coming to the Foundation as a volunteer, Dara was hoping to gain some event experience but quickly realized just how special Providence was and the incredible things being done here. After months of learning and developing her skills, she was hired on full time in August of 2013 to help support the three signature events. Dara is now in a position she loves, coordinating the Providence Golf Classic, Silver Ball and WIPP events while providing support to Cuisine & Cuvée.
Emily has been working at the Foundation for a few years. She enjoys the fast-paced environment, working with a great group of people and within an organization where she is constantly being challenged and learning new things.
Major Gifts Officer
Lauren is a passionate fundraiser who is motivated by the philosophy of “doing well while doing good.” As Major Gifts Officer, her attention is focused on donor relations and advancing the $16 million Hope Starts Here campaign. She is dedicated to building strong relationships between Providence and those interested in supporting our patients and residents.
