We are pleased to announce that the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care has approved our integration proposal with St. Joseph’s Health Centre and St. Michael’s Hospital as of August 1, 2017. This is an exciting milestone for each of our organizations and the people we care for as we work towards our vision of advancing the health of our patients and our urban communities. The integration means that our combined 10,000 staff members are now officially employees of the new health network. United, we are better positioned to serve our patients, residents and clients across the full spectrum of care, which spans primary care, secondary community care, tertiary and quaternary care services to post-acute through rehabilitation, palliative care and long-term care, while investing in world-class research and education.
“Each of our hospitals has a long and proud history of providing excellent and compassionate care to all, particularly those who experience marginalization or disadvantage. Our new health network presents an opportunity for us to reinvest in patient care as well as help patients and their families obtain better access to higher quality, integrated care,” said Dr. Robert Howard, interim president and CEO.
Welcome to our new health network!
