Providence Healthcare has launched a new strategic plan to lay the foundation for achieving what we promise in our new Vision: “to help people stay healthy and safe at home, for as long as possible.”
The BEST Together Strategic Plan 2015-2020 is based on the most extensive consultation process in our history. We met with hundreds of stakeholders through Open Space forums, meetings with staff, donors, patients, residents and families, as well as over 30 meetings with partners at Local Health Integration Networks, Community Care Access Centres, acute care hospitals and community agencies. Their insight and counsel were critical to the development of BEST Together.
Our emphasis will continue to be on caring for the frail elderly, mind, body and spirit, and supporting their families and caregivers. In our new Plan, we describe how Providence will add value for the people it cares for, add value to the system, and extend the powerful legacy of our founders, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Toronto.
We are also proud to introduce BEST Together under the banner of a new brand identity. The feedback gathered during our strategic plan engagement exercises helped recognize that our previous brand identity was not strong enough to reflect our bold new direction. Our new brand platform includes a dynamic new logo that puts emphasis is on the word ‘Providence’ and introduces a new graphic symbol. The logo icon’s colour combination blends Providence’s hallmark orange colour with shades of blue, a colour traditionally associated with the clinical/medical field. The combination acknowledges the compassion and warmth of the care Providence has provided for over 158 years, and the knowledge and expertise of our employees, physicians and volunteers.
